I'm getting there..I just really wish I didn't have to work tomorrow so I could actually finish. Especially since I now have a room to clean.
- Vanquished the GRE - Got a call back from Calyx Press apologizing for not getting to me on the interview; as expected they were just really busy yesterday (they're a small press, it's expected) and they still really want to interview me. Yay! - got an A on a short story - Saw a Tesla Roadster on the way home (!). God damn it is a gorgeous car. - Felt really, really good. For some reason getting up at five in the fucking morning agreed with me
kwviola @ 06:26 pm: Laaaaa Yesterday I went to bed at 6:45, sort of by accident. I woke up again around 10, put my PJs on, and went back to bed til this morning. I really think I'm fighting something off, although I can't tell what.
My lips are all chapped like I'm dehydrated, but I've been drinking water like crazy the past two days (because I hate skin peeling off my lips!). I acquired a sharpie at work, and made tick marks on my cup - 7 glasses of water today, plus a cup of hot chocolate. ^^ It was my motivation for not eating the Halloween candy.
Because I did math - if I burn 500 more calories than I "need" a day, then that'll be a pound a week, which will be twenty pounds by tax day. This should be do-able. But that makes that Halloween candy mean that two candy bars a day = an extra pound a week... thus the sticky note that says 500/cal day on my desk now.
And I'd better go grab a sandwich if I want to make it to rehearsal on time.
I had a ridiculously crazy dream this morning. The speakerguy was yelling, "Make sure you get everything in writing! I MEAN IT! Get it all in writing!" And then I woke up. Hmmm.
sunseenli @ 04:10 pm: >.< ...okay, which one of you fuckers is responsible for this?

Come on people, 'fess up. It's actually pretty funny, I've never seen that particular chain letter before. (Thank God. I'm assuming that was also made up for the e-mail?)
darcy_chan @ 02:31 pm: Found this video about a month ago. This person has good tastes in animu and music! ( it pretty much looks like I made it with their choices in music and anime) It has Mr. Takuma from Elf Princess Rane *__________* *drool* You can't go wrong there!!! Enjoy! ^___^
"Thank you for writing in support of Senate Bill 572. {Crissy's note: He must be referring to the e-mail I sent previously. I have not written him again since--and I still reiterate I didn't really write him that time, I clicked a button. Maybe two.} Taking the time to communicate your views is essential to good citizenship and good government. {"And I'm Austrian, so I know all about good citizenship and good government. Seig Heil!"}
I am pleased to inform you that I signed this legislation after extensive consideration of arguments from both supporters and opponents of the issue. {Yes, I know. Do you really think I'd support a cause and then not monitor its progress?} To view the final language of the bill, please visit the Official California Legislative Information website at www.leginfo.ca.gov.
Again, thank you for taking the time to write. I value your suggestions on how government can better serve the people of our state. {Oh, really? Why don't I suggest how you can best serve the people of our country...I'm thinking that you be ground up and mixed into asphalt to fix a few potholes....}
Sincerely,
Arnold Schwarzenegger"
Dude, God help him if I receive a forwarded chain letter from him. You just wait...

the fabric i'm looking into is a pleather. it is 65% polyester and 35% pvc. it does not have too much of a stretch to it. i can get it for $2.88 a yard on friday with a coupon, so i hope there's enough left. i tried finding a link to the fabric online, and i'm pretty sure this is it: http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog.jsp?CATID=cat2952&PRODID=xprd757783
my question. will this be good for what i want it for? it seems too perfect to be true. it's such a great price for such a good looking fabric!
i honestly have no experience sewing a full body suit like this, but what i was basically planning on doing was essentially tracing my body, cutting it out, and sewing it together. of course i would make the arms and legs separate to fit right, but i have no other ideas on how to judge size. i can't find a pattern for such a thing anywhere either. does anyone here have experience sewing such a project, and if so, how did you go about getting a good, tight (but not ridiculously tight!), perfect fit?
i appreciate everyone's input! i would really like to get this project in motion! :)
EDIT: i appreciate everyone's help! :D i just want to point out that i realize a 2 or 4 way stretch would be much more ideal for this project. i just want to know if i can make this fabric work. i've wanted to do this costume for a long time, but could not afford it. $2.88 for pvc is a great price, and i just want to know if it's possible to work with it.
from everyone's advice, i'm going to make a mock costume with simple non-stretch fabric. i am going to buy kwik sew 3052 if i can't find anything else in the books at joann. i do have a teflon foot, so that's all good! i'll be careful with sewing the fabric, and i'll be sure to check pvc tutorials before i start.
Only it's 7:00, and I still haven't gotten a call.
So... what's the proper etiquette for politely asking what happened here..? I... actually just called them and left a message on their answering machine, and I hope it didn't sound too nervous and "sssoooo what happened?"
I'm so horrible over the phone, jeez. And I hope calling didn't just scuttle my chances entirely. GJ, me, GJ.

orochiserge @ 08:55 am: Guess I'm over due. Forgot to put my LJ account off of automatic renewal, got charged for another year. Oh well no biggie I guess.
As far as AUSA goes we decided to push our skit back to Katsucon. I could not get the extras I required, as well as the person who's idea this originally was may not be able to attend. Cristi and I are still going to AUSA, we're keeping our room, but it'll be a chill con for us. Of course we'll be at the bar as usual. To make sure we won't have any confusion like last year, I will have a visual aid of our location in the coming weeks.
We got Claire, Becky, Camille and Sarah in our room. 5 hot girls, 1 guy....oh woe is me.
Had a fun weekend. Started things off at Becky and Jon's place for their awesome Halloween party. I dressed up as a Hunter, got a nice buzz and had a great time. The only cruddy thing that happened was that I forgot my leather jacket, hopefully I can get it back soon. I really do like that jacket.
Saturday after coming back from Glen Burnie. I took Cristi out to lunch in celebration of her birthday and then bought her present. We later picked up a few bags of candy for the trick or treaters, but only three kids came to our place last night so we have a nice stock of candy for us.
Sunday we went back to the mall to raid the Halloween store, bought some Star Trek Uniforms at half price.
I finished Brutal Legend, there was a few flaws to the game but all around a great game. I should really try out the multiplayer, that maybe fun. Also beat the story mode in Arkham Asylum. I have to say that Arkham is probably the best comic game I've ever played. I can't really think of anything that comes close to it. Working on Uncharted 2, which is another great game. Also people need to download Critter Crunch, like now.
Going to stop off at Bose tonight to pick up an application, I'm going to attempt to work a second job during the Holidays, one that won't require much pressure. I was also considering Gamestop as well. We'll see how that goes. I just want to work something that have me scheduled on evenings during the week, and mornings on the weekend.
I can't believe I'm rooting for the Yankees to win the World Series, but that's how much I hate Philly teams.
jenovaphobia, posting in cosplay @ 10:29 am: Cyperous Powerlon 105cm silver wig Ideal for a Sephiroth cosplay or similar, I bought this wig ages ago, tried it on, and have since never once worn it. I have no plans for it and it was such an expensive wig it's a waste to do nothing with it.
Thus, I am selling it. It cost me about £90 ($160) at the time I bought it, and whilst I'd like some ofthat back, I don't expect it! I'm open to offers but ideally about £50 including special delivery postage (to avoid the postal strikes!) and the wig cap that came with it. If you're outside of the UK airmail costs will be a bit higher ;)
It's a beautiful wig, and those of you familar with Cyperous will be well aware of the high quality ofthe wigs and the heat resistant quality of the fibre. This is NOT an ordinary wig, it is FAR better! :)
Stock photo included:
Photo does it no justice, this wig is gorgeous! Feel free to contact me with any questions :)
darcy_chan @ 10:56 pm: Wut a weekend This weekend was the best !!! Just amazing! Such a positive experience! Waay too many things to mention, but I will say this, cosplay has brought me the best thing in life, wonderful friendships with people I would have never known otherwise. I'm so honored to have you all as friends. Thanks for all your love and support! 2 other things. For the past month my quote has been, " I am the most forgettable, unrelatable person EVAR." Which is so true, but for the past 2 days, it did not feel that way. *teary eyed* I needed this. Thank you to all of you ( you know who you are) who included me and made me feel super special this weekend, even if it wasn't supposed to be my place to have attention at all. I loved being part of the fun!! Lastly, for someone who wanted to throw in the towel at the end of this year, I've been bitten by the cosplay bug again. This month has soley been cosplay, but instead of hating more like I really thought I would, I've become more in love with it. Way to ruin my plans of stopping, ne? lol I suppose now it's safe to say that cosplay is my husbando. We have some bitter fights, doubting and disappointment, but I will love him eternally for making me so passionate and for all the joy he has brought to my life. Oh, cosplay... *___* Hope everyone had a fantastic Halloween weekend, weather you were at a con, a party or just hanging out! *huggles* For now I'm just gonna enjoy my stay on cloud 9. ^__^
ainslye @ 11:00 pm: jebus this is one strong baby. he's kicking the CRAP out of me. way stronger/more active than kaylee was.
I also feel freaking HUGE for 27 weeks. I was looking at belly photos with kaylee and I am way bigger than I was at 27 weeks with her. I've been totally slacking on the belly pics for this baby. Maybe I'll take one this week....
